Safety flex spines are 7" removable spines with a flexible point near one end. They're designed to flex, even fold, when they come into contact with foreign objects so that neither get hurt. The wick is our famous hybrid wick "pumpkins" and the business end screws into any of our removable spine fire hoops.

The flexible portion has two very important parts. First, as pictured above, the wick end is attached to the other via a special U-joint. This joint insures that the wick stays attached to the hoop, even if everything else goes wrong.

But the special silicon rubber tube is designed to prevent anything from going wrong. First, unlike most other rubbers, it's not vulnerable to vapors from common fuels, so no expansion or untimely deterioration. Next, it's the highest heat rubber available, to resist burning, charring, cracking, etc. And finally, the thickness is chosen specifically to allow maximum flexibility without wobble.

Each of these gems are topped with our famous hybrid wick "pumpkins". You get a lovely long burn with white gas, or even alcohol, though dirtier fuels are not recommended.
